On March 3, 2014, pursuant to the decision of the Katowice-Wschód District Court in Katowice, 8th Commercial Division of the National Court Register, of March 3, 2014, the name of the company, established as a result of the merger of the Elgór + Hansen Sp. z o. o. company from Chorzów and ZEG from Tychy, has been changed. – the new name is Elgór + Hansen Spółka Akcyjna with its registered seat in Chorzów.
Elgór + Hansen Sp. z o. o. in Chorzów started its operation in 1989 as PPHU ELGÓR. It operated under the name of Elgór + Hansen Sp. z o. o. with its registered office in Chorzów, ul. Opolska 19, since 1994 when it merged with Hansen Projektgesselschaft Polen. As a part of the international Holding Hansen Sicherheitstechnik AG embracing companies from Germany, the Czech Republic, China and South Africa, Elgór + Hansen Sp. z o. o. co-formed a technological platform for diversified electrical products for the mining industry. Zakład Elektroniki Górniczej was established in 1964 and its goal was to equip the mining industry with state-of-the-art automation, control and instrumentation, signalling and communications equipment. The Power Department, established after the merger of its daughter company ZEG-ENERGETYKA Sp. z o.o. in 2009, also became a part of the organisational structure of ZEG.
