The challenge

FAMUR Gearo was looking for a way to improve the management of electricity, gas, and water consumption, which directly affect operating costs and production efficiency. The main challenges included:

• lack of ongoing monitoring of utility consumption,
• limited capabilities for early detection of failures and anomalies,
• the need for accurate energy cost allocation to production departments,
• the need to adapt to growing regulatory and environmental requirements.

The aim of the project was therefore not only to introduce a monitoring tool, but above all to significantly increase the energy efficiency of the plant

Solution

In response to these needs, we designed and implemented the EH-SmartView Energy system, which provides:

• real-time monitoring of energy consumption and other utilities,
• integration of data from meters and analyzers regardless of their manufacturer,
• full visualization and analysis of data in a user-friendly form of operator panels.

The implementation process included an audit of FAMUR Gearo’s infrastructure, preparation of an offer tailored to individual requirements, installation design, and system parameterization in close cooperation with the partner’s team. Already at the implementation stage, the priority was to adapt the functionality to the needs of energy optimization.

Results

The implementation of the EH-SmartView Energy system enabled FAMUR Gearo to achieve significant operational and cost improvements.
Thanks to precise monitoring of media consumption, it was possible to:

• identify areas of excessive consumption and implement corrective measures,
• optimize the operation of heaters, electric boilers, and ventilation by implementing schedules,
• introduce systematic data analysis allowing for quick response to irregularities,
• improve the functioning of lighting systems,
• ensure more accurate billing of energy consumption costs for individual production departments.

Importantly, thanks to daily analysis and new plant operating standards, the company can now manage its resources more efficiently and reduce energy losses.
