Modernization of the DBFR4 longitudinal rolling mill for Kuźnia Jawor S.A.
We have completed work on the modernization of another project in our portfolio—a forging machine, specifically a DBFR4 longitudinal rolling mill. The modernization was carried out on behalf of Kuźnia Jawor S.A. and is just one stage of the contracted work.
Zakres prac
- Equipping the rolling mill with an automatic solid lubrication system.
- Installation of a new pneumatic control system.
- Development of a new electric drive powered by a frequency converter.
- Machine equipment: new set of safety guards with optical safety curtain.
- Implementation of a new digital control automation system based on a programmable industrial controller.
- Development of a digital roller distance measurement system.
- Equipped with a set of sensors controlling, among other things: the temperature of the main shaft bearings, the level of solid lubricant, the full lubrication cycle, air pressure, the opening of fixed covers, the position of the main shaft, and the distance between the working rollers.
- Use of a new control panel equipped with an industrial HMI visualization panel.
- Installation of a digital interface for cooperation with an automated workstation.
Characteristics of the rolling mill modernization work carried out
Both the technical design of the electrical system and the production of all electrical equipment for the rolling mill in question were carried out at ELgór + Hansen S.A.
The assembly work was carried out at ZBM ZAMET, where the rolling mill underwent a major overhaul and modernization in terms of its mechanical components.
The rolling mill is our next modernized machine for the forging industry – in addition to the modernization of the 350T and 2500T presses carried out in 2021, which confirms our competence and capabilities in the field of all types of work related to modern power supply and control automation of industrial machines and devices, adapting them to the current and high requirements of the customer.
The technical acceptance carried out after the modernization, confirmed by an appropriate program of trials and tests, confirmed the correct operation and functionality of the rolling mill after the modernization. Further tests will be carried out at Kuźnia Jawor S.A. during the actual rolling process.
